Some Baby Things

These baby tie shoes are from Crotiques pattern site.

These will be donated to the local pregnancy resource center.

This is a baby set I made to donate to the local pregnancy resource center also. The sweater is from a pattern I found online a long time ago. The yarn I used is Caron Jumbo Prints, and since it is WW, my sweater turned out to be bigger than the pattern. It's about 6 month size. I couldn't find a hat pattern that looked like it went with the sweater, so I designed my own. Most of the booties patterns that I liked were too small to go with the sweater, so I designed my own booties too.

Inauguration Chapeau

This is the Inauguration Chapeau designed by Ellen Bloom.
pattern is here: Inauguration Chapeau

I used Vanna's choice in linen. I had to leave out a row of the tie, because the pattern called for 220 yards of yarn and I had only 197 yards. However, I think another row of DC would've made the tie too wide anyhow.
This hat is a little large on the mannequin head, but it fits me perfectly.

Hats, hats and more hats

It's bee a hat week for me. First my niece bought me a very nice ball of yarn from their visit to Colorado. I made a hat with it. I had to supplement it with some alpaca yarn I had. The pattern is a FPDC around the crown and then HDC around the head.

I also made a baby cap with some ILTY Candy Corn ombre. It was just a simple pattern that I made as I went....

The last is a cap from vallieskids.blogspot.com called Meagan-wants-you. I made it for my friend's daughter's birthday. I am wokring on a scarf now. She likes purple, so I went shopping in my stash and found some Red Heart Aztec that fit the bill.

Felted Booga Bag

This is a felted bag I made as a shower favor. It worked up very quickly! Lion Brand Midnight Yarn ran when felting so the colors aren't what they should be, but still acceptable. The pattern is free and called Booga Bag.

I didn't do an icord for the handles. Instead, I loosely chained a whole bunch with an N hook and two strands, then I sl st into the underside loop of the chain all the way back.

Liquid Silver Shawl

This is called the "Liquid Silver Wrap" and is from the elann.com website. The laceweight yarn I used is Pure silk 20-2 from Yarn and Fiber Company and is color storm. I highly recommend using laceweight needles, as it makes a huge difference. I only did two repeats wide of the pattern, not three. I got my beads from Hobby Lobby.

The shawl pin is a Fair Trade endeavor by a group called "Rwanda Knits".

BICO

This is the BICO I made baby Cindy. However I used an H instead of an I, so it may be too small. I will make a new one, if it is...I used 1 skein of Bernat Baby Boucle in Water Slide. It is edged with Bernat Baby Boucle in Dust of Pink. It's about a 3 month size.

School cardigan

This is the cardigan I knit for my daughter for school. It has to be navy blue, but other than that no requirement. (I hope)

Sweater Set

This is the sweater set I finished for a friend's grandson, Ethan. I have many more to make....

This is my "non"Fat Bottom Bag. Although I followed the pattern. I did not read the stitch pattern correctly and only did HDC, instead of HHDC. I also included pics of the lining. The other bag was the one I finished during the summer, but I did just line it.

Chevron Lace Cardigan

This cardigan is made from red Heart Soft yarn, in the color Guacamole. I think I used 3 skeins, but I'm not sure, it may have been 4. I can't remember how many I bought. This is the third thing I tried to make from this yarn. The pattern is here:
Cardigan
This is a very easy pattern, and only took me a few weeks to make. I could've finished it a lot faster if I had worked at it a little harder. I used a progressively smaller hook as I did the sleeves so that the wrist would be narrower than the top of the sleeve. I added several rows of SC around the neckline, since it was quite loose, and
I made the bottom edge straight by doing SC/HDC/DC as needed to get an even edge. I then did a border of DC followed by a round of SC around the entire sweater. I am considering adding some buttons to the front.

More FO's

The bed-size blue/brown gahn and a 42 inch RR are going, along with the red/white/blue RR to Fisher House today.
The big ghan used appr. 2 sk each of coffee (RHSS); Earth & Sky (RHSS) and TLC's Robin Egg. The squares were about 13 inches or so.
The RR with blues used smidges of white and bright yellow, with Blue #886, Delft Blue and Lt. Periwinkle (all RHSS).

Bling Purse

Here is the purse I made. I felted Cascade yarn - the overlay is by Artyarns. I made up the pattern as I went along. I had to add a snap, because it did not close the way I thought it might, because the strap doesn't slide easily.

Baby Aran Afghan

Here is my finished afghan. I made the body of the afghan using a smaller version of this pattern:
Crochet Aran Afghan

I started with 125 FDC and then followed the pattern until the blanket was wide enough. I bordered it with a row of SC, and then a row of RHDC.

It turned out to be about 38 inches wide by 42 inches long.

I used Pound of Love in white. It took over a pound of yarn.

Friendship Square

This is the square I made for Christi. It's called Winter Jewel. It's really a 7" sq, but I used an "H" hook and it came out to a perfect 8" square!!!

Baby Round Ripple

Here is the baby round ripple I did in Pooh colors for my grandchild that's due in Sept! The nursery theme is Winnie the Pooh. I hope they like it! I used Aggie May's 6 pt pattern from the 6>12>24 CAL on Crochetville.

Squares I Tested

These are squares I tested for SmoothFox this past week. I do not know if she will have the patterns for sale or for free. They are Flower Power #3 & #4.

I made this little doll for Heather's DD for the HIJ swap. It was fun to make and the pattern was easy to follow.

This is the shawl I made for Heather for the HIJ swap. I used Marble yarn and the diagonal box stitch. If you look carefully on the right shoulder part of the shawl, you can see some of the stitchmarkers my sister made.

Dishcloth / washcloth

I meant to post these on July 15th when I finished them LOL. But here are my dishcloths. It is just a simple pattern of alternating shells and V-stich. There are three of them but one was hijacked by my son to become a blankie for his dinosaur.
They are made from Bernat Cotton and the color is Westport

Noah Afghan

Here is my finished Noah Ghan. It is going to baby Cindy, who was born last week. I made it with Red Heart Soft Yarn. The pattern was originally in Crochet! May 2008

Knucks

I made these for my sister, she found the pattern and chose black. They came out great, I just didn't like knitting the finicky bits (the fingers are done individually on dpns).
